Valu Home Centers, a Buffalo based, family-owned, regional home center chain has been proudly serving the do-it-yourselfer since 1967. With 41 stores and more than 1,000 employees in Western and Central New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania, Valu is striving to make a difference in many communities.

Over the past 10 years, through proceeds from the sale of a Winter "Salvation Kit", Valu Home centers has donated over $431,000 to local Salvation Army chapters in the areas they serve. For the past 12 years, Valu Home Centers has conducted a campaign to benefit the Kids Escaping Drugs Renaissance Campus and Make-A-Wish Foundation. To date, Valu has raised over $670,000 to benefit these worthy organizations.

Since 1993, Valu has held an annual summer fundraising campaign. By raising awareness and hope, Valu partnered with Habitat for Humanity to deliver safe and affordable housing to a number of local families. To date, over $2,880,000 has been raised and donated to 17 local Habitat for Humanity affiliates.

Valu Home Centers holds a Community Event Day at each store during the months of May and September: Local organizations such as the Boy Scouts, PTA, and area high schools come to the stores to sell hot dogs, pop and baked goods to raise money for their organizations. Since 1999, over $180,000 has been raised to support these local organizations.

Over 30 local non-profits have been greatly impacted by Valu Home Center's philanthropy. Although too numerous to name them all, some of the beneficiaries include the United Way, Catholic Charities, Children's Hospital, Hospice Buffalo, various local fire and police departments and many other worthy organizations.

For more than 43 years, customer service and community service have been and continue to be the core commitments at Valu Home Centers.
